Let’s Keep It Real

Do you often feel stressed out and frustrated for no reason at all? You’re just sitting around the house or mulling about the office and, for no reason at all, you just feel bad? Did you ever consider the fact that, it could’ve been due to the music you are listening to.  That’s right! It could be something as simple as that, and more often than not, it is.

Too many people fail to realize that it is altogether possible that their misguided emotions could be reduced to this: “Just how does this man know what he’s talking about?” Well now, I don’t claim to be a medical doctor, but I am a doctor of music. And I’m here to tell you that musical sounds can be the provider of either a blessing or a curse to your soul and to your general health. Today all sorts of robotic music, most of which is artificial, bombards us. Therefore much of the computer driven trash we are subjected to today oft-times damages the spiritual aspect of our physical and mental health. If you don’t think that this is an important analysis, then let me tell you: “You’ve got another thought coming.”

The sole purpose of music is to manipulate our emotions, to entice us to laugh or to cry, to feel joy or pain, and even to lull us into marching off to war. Music in ancient times was played specifically for one of these purposes. So, as you can see, music has and will always be one of the most important aspects of the human experience.

The term “computerized music” refers to music produced through computers rather than through the hearts and souls of human beings. It is much different than that which is played by humans. It therefore has a different effect on the human psyche.

By the way and much to our misfortune, over sixty five percent of the music we hear today is both played and produced through computers. And in the long run, computerized music generally takes a laborious toll on the human heart. Most people don’t know this, but whenever we hear a musical piece, any musical piece, their hearts tend to beat right along with its pulse. This is true to every musical piece we hear and otherwise enjoy.

The original purpose for music was to conjure up the human spirit. Therefore, nothing conjures up the spirit better than an organized group of human beings. It was that way for eons, at least up until mankind took control of it for economic reasons. Unfortunately, once it became recorded and was commercialized, greed sat in and has all but destroyed its original God-given purpose.

You would think in these modern times that today’s musical listeners would be privy to the very best of everything musically, but the fact is, we simply are not.

The music industry’s original purpose was to capture the very best sounds of each instrument and to record the cream of the crop of musical artists. But musicians have in recent years given in to mere garage band mentality. The industry, which use to pride itself in being the ultimate barometer of pop culture, has in recent years marketed some of the lousiest, non talented, no playing, loud, long haired crap in all existence.

They do this to negate the wealth of naturally talented individuals whom this country’s slave driven culture produced. It is as if they truly believe everything the under class came up with is theirs for the taking, even down to their very culture.

However, there are some things that you simply cannot steal. You may attempt to rob people of their culture, but just as it is with any crime, there are consequences. And in this particular case, everyone looses.

I have been on the music scene long enough to see the many changes that have taken place. And let me tell you: very few of the ones I’ve seen have been for the better. Should you chose to stay tuned, I will take you on a journey through this cultural maze, and together we may be able to make some positive changes and possibly put music back into proper prospective. Until then, please feel free to express yourself.

I agree with you, music is the soul trying to communicate with man in a physical medium. It can affect alll of our senses. Great music can make us feel better, it can make food tast better, it can make a fragrance smell..well better. through music we connect…with God, with ourselves, with other living beings. Music reflects the pulse and heartbeat of the universe, keep on making it real.
